Hello #ChangeMakers!

You’ve all been itching to roll your sleeves up and DO something and, right now, Planned Parenthood and the millions of Americans who rely on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) for healthcare need you!

If you need inspiration on why your Deeds matter, I hope you’ll read the piece I wrote for Bustle this week about why we’ve got to move from malaise to action. Even if you're not ready to hit the gym yet after holiday indulgence, as Lindy West says in an article highlighted below, “Forgive yourself for not running a 10k. Call your congressman instead.” Right on, Lindy! And this week, that’s exactly what I’m hoping you will DO. We’ve got a couple of tips below in this week’s Digest to make it easy for you!

One helps you dial in to a phone poll being conducted by Speaker Paul Ryan’s office to express your support for the continuation of the ACA – all you have to do is push a couple of numbers and, voila, your opinion is registered.

The other link guides you to finding your own representatives so you can call their offices and let them know, in no uncertain terms, that you DO NOT support the defunding of Planned Parenthood or the end of the Affordable Care Act that they are being asked to vote on.

For those of you wanting to work on a larger strategy to fight back against this administration's anti-woman agenda: take a look at the incredibly helpful Indivisible guide in our LEARN section, written by some former congressional staffers. It’s been getting a lot of well-deserved attention for laying out a simple, how-to on being an effective squeaky wheel with your elected officials on issues you care about.

This is just the beginning of what will likely be a long journey for all of us. And unless we speak up, act out and push back, we’ll bear the brunt of an agenda that forever threatens to harm the values of equality and inclusion that we all hold so dear. As the adorable 4 year-old explains in the video we included below, a successful year doesn’t necessarily consist of a resolution to do something huge and unattainable, but rather an accumulation of 1000 little moments. Let’s make a couple of phone calls your first of many “little moments” for 2017!

Our future is in the hands of some amazing people, #ChangeMakers …. YOURS!

Being a woman in 2017 wont be easy, but Lindy West teaches us how we can survive AND thrive.

Want to make sure this year's resolutions are feminist? Bustle shows us you've been doing it all along

Our exiting President is a serious feminist. Mic highlights some of POTUS' top moments support the women's movement.

2016 was a rough one, but we can't write it off as a total waste! Vox reminds us great strides were made for women last year too.

Leave it to a 4 year old to remind us that we should be making resolutions all year long, not just at the start of the year.

More a listen than a view, but this fantastic podcast by Jessica Valenti teaches feminists how to stare down 2017.

Plan on making calls? (YES!) Make sure your voice is heard in the most effective way possible with the viral Indivisible guide.
