Hello #ChangeMakers!

Exactly 3 years ago, you and I and thousands of people across the country decided we’d had enough of lawmakers attempts to roll us back to the 1960’s – a time when women put their very lives at risk in order to access abortion care. As I look back on that day and so many other examples of people coming together demanding to be heard, I am inspired to believe in our capacity to move this country in the right direction. I have watched in awe as you have fought to make your voices heard on issues ranging from sexual assault on college campuses, to college affordability, to marriage equality, to reproductive autonomy, to criminal justice reforms and so much more. On Monday, we’ll hear the Supreme Court’s opinion on the very law that you and I filibustered in 2013. I remain optimistic that they will do right by the women of Texas and of this country. If they do side with us, it will be due in large part to the collective work, the sharing of stories and the elevation of this issue that happened because so many of you decided you were ready to step forward and fight, even when the odds were against us. Keep on believing my amazing friends. We are moving the needle and we are nowhere near finished.

xo,
Wendy
